Each group will create its own instructional text linked to this page. Within each text, you will find the following components:
Definition of genre. This section answers questions like, Why do people use this genre? What is its general purpose?
Genre’s components. This section includes a list of the genres components and a brief (1 sentence) description of each component.
Writer’s steps in creating this genre. Here, a sequenced list of steps a writer should follow when writing in this genre is provided.
Writing tips. This section includes advice for writers, answering questions such as, What are some common mistakes writers make? What might writers do to avoid these mistakes?
Examples of this genre. Samples of the genre are provided.
